IBM有意退出x86伺服器市場 中國聯想成最大受益者

據傳IBM有意把部分x86伺服器業務賣給聯想，這可能將為全球伺服器市場版圖帶來重大變化。

以營收來算，IBM是全球第三大x86伺服器廠商，據IDC估計，其2012年市佔率達15.7%。IBM去年伺服器營收為56億美元，整個公司的營收為1,045億美元。IBM過去幾年在x86伺服器市場的市佔率逐漸下滑；在2010年，其市佔率為17.4%，營收為55億美元。

假如釋出部分的x86產品線，IBM將可把資源投入利潤更豐厚的產業，尤其是分析與商業智慧產業，給對手帶來更大壓力。

聯想即將成為全球最大PC廠商，如今若接手IBM x86伺服器事業，他們得到的可能不僅是產品市佔率而已。Forrester分析師Richard Fichera表示，聯想還可以得到IBM的執行能力以及與北美客戶的關係，尤其北美市場現在幾乎是惠普(HP)與戴爾(Dell)的天下。

Fichera表示：「沒有一家亞洲公司明白要怎麼把產品賣給北美企業。」

不過這不保證聯想一定會保住IBM的x86伺服器市佔率。IDC分析師Jean Bozman表示：「每當市場上的競爭者出現變化時，市佔率也可能跟著變動。」分析師不認為IBM會淡出全部的x86伺服器市場，像是專為商業智慧與資料分析而打造的新款PureSystems就有可能留下。

現在不確定的就是時間而已，IBM已經把PC賣給聯想，也退出了硬碟與印表機產業。
